It’s Official!  Ringing is Good for You

The Times recently reported that churches are urging parishioners to take up bellringing to keep fit.

Apparently it gives us improved agility, co-ordination, reaction time, balance, muscle endurance and flexibility!

This is according to Lord Grossman who is now Chairman of the Churches Conservation Trust.  He says that the average change ringer stays healthy and active well into old age.  He says that they decided to take a scientific look at the fitness benefits, and that the results were so remarkable that they’ve launched a campaign to recruit more people.
